Seattle is a scenic seaport city in western Washington, situated on an isthmus between Puget Sound to the west and Lake Washington to the east. It is the largest city in Washington. Five pioneer families from Illinois first settled the area in 1851, and named the town after a friendly Suquamish Indian chief. It was incorporated as a city in 1869, and grew quickly after the Great Northern Railway arrived in 1893, especially during the Alaska Gold Rush of 1897. When the Panama Canal opened in 1914, Seattle became a major Pacific port of entry, and today it is the region's commercial and transportation hub and the centre of manufacturing, trade, and finance, with an estimated 684,451 residents as of 2015.

Ketchikan, Alaska, United States

Ketchikan is famous for its colorful totem poles, rainy skies, steep–as–San Francisco streets, and lush island setting. Some 13,500 people call the town home, and, in the summer, cruise ships crowd the shoreline, floatplanes depart noisily for Misty Fiords National Monument, and salmon-laden commercial fishing boats motor through Tongass Narrows. In the last decade Ketchikan's rowdy, blue-collar heritage of logging and fishing has been softened by the loss of many timber-industry jobs and the dramatic rise of cruise-ship tourism. With some effort, though, visitors can still glimpse the rugged frontier spirit that once permeated this hardscrabble cannery town. Art lovers should make a beeline for Ketchikan: the arts community here is very active. Travelers in search of the perfect piece of Alaska art will find an incredible range of pieces to choose from.The town is at the foot of 3,000-foot Deer Mountain, near the southeastern corner of Revillagigedo (locals shorten it to Revilla) Island. Prior to the arrival of white miners and fishermen in 1885, the Tlingit used the site at the mouth of Ketchikan Creek as a summer fish camp. Gold discoveries just before the turn of the 20th century brought more immigrants, and valuable timber and commercial fishing resources spurred new industries. By the 1930s the town bragged that it was the "salmon-canning capital of the world." You will still find some of Southeast's best salmon fishing around here. Ketchikan is the first bite of Alaska that many travelers taste. Despite its imposing backdrop, hillside homes, and many staircases, the town is relatively easy to walk through. Favorite downtown stops include the Spruce Mill Development shops and Creek Street. A bit farther away you'll find the Totem Heritage Center. Out of town (but included on most bus tours) are two longtime favorites: Totem Bight State Historical Park to the north and Saxman Totem Park to the south.

Endicott Arm, Alaska, United States

Endicott Arm is a long fjord branching off Stephen’s Passage, the major inner passage heading southeast from Juneau. The easternmost tip of Endicott Arm nearly reaches the Canadian border. Like all the fords in this region, it was carved by glaciers during the last Ice Age which ended about 11,000 years ago. One either side of the fjord the steep, nearly vertical walls, rise to a height of about 370 meters or 1,200 feet. Sitka spruce and western hemlock trees manage to cling onto the rock faces, adding to the breath-taking beauty of the landscape.

Juneau, Alaska, United States

Juneau, Alaska's capital and third-largest city, is on the North American mainland but can't be reached by road. Bounded by steep mountains and water, the city’s geographic isolation and compact size make it much more akin to an island community such as Sitka than to other Alaskan urban centers, such as Fairbanks or Anchorage. Juneau is full of contrasts. Its dramatic hillside location and historic downtown buildings provide a frontier feeling, but the city's cosmopolitan nature comes through in fine museums, noteworthy restaurants, and a literate and outdoorsy populace. The finest of the museums, the Alaska State Museum, is scheduled to reopen in May 2016 on its old site as the expanded Alaska State Library, Archives, and Museum (SLAM) following several years of planning and exhibit research. Another new facility, the Walter Soboleff Center, offers visitors a chance to learn about the indigenous cultures of Southeast Alaska–-Tlingit, Haida, and Tsimshian. Other highlights include the Mt. Roberts Tramway, plenty of densely forested wilderness areas, quiet bays for sea kayaking, and even a famous drive-up glacier, Mendenhall Glacier. For goings-on, pick up the Juneau Empire (www.juneauempire.com), which keeps tabs on state politics, business, sports, and local news.

Skagway, Alaska, United States

Located at the northern terminus of the Inside Passage, Skagway is a one-hour ferry ride from Haines. By road, however, the distance is 359 miles, as you have to take the Haines Highway up to Haines Junction, Yukon, then take the Alaska Highway 100 miles south to Whitehorse, and then drive a final 100 miles south on the Klondike Highway to Skagway. North-country folk call this sightseeing route the Golden Horseshoe or Golden Circle tour, because it passes a lot of gold-rush country in addition to spectacular lake, forest, and mountain scenery.The town is an amazingly preserved artifact from North America's biggest, most-storied gold rush. Most of the downtown district forms part of the Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park, a unit of the National Park System dedicated to commemorating and interpreting the frenzied stampede of 1897 that extended to Dawson City in Canada's Yukon.Nearly all the historic sights are within a few blocks of the cruise-ship and ferry dock, allowing visitors to meander through the town's attractions at whatever pace they choose. Whether you're disembarking from a cruise ship, a ferry, or a dusty automobile fresh from the Golden Circle, you'll quickly discover that tourism is the lifeblood of this town. Unless you're visiting in winter or hiking into the backcountry on the Chilkoot Trail, you aren't likely to find a quiet Alaska experience around Skagway.

Victoria, British Columbia, Canada

Victoria, the capital of a province whose license plates brazenly label it "The Best Place on Earth," is a walkable, livable seaside city of fragrant gardens, waterfront paths, engaging museums, and beautifully restored 19th-century architecture. In summer, the Inner Harbour—Victoria's social and cultural center—buzzes with visiting yachts, horse-and-carriage rides, street entertainers, and excursion boats heading out to visit pods of friendly local whales. Yes, it might be a bit touristy, but Victoria's good looks, gracious pace, and manageable size are instantly beguiling, especially if you stand back to admire the mountains and ocean beyond. At the southern tip of Vancouver Island, Victoria dips slightly below the 49th parallel. That puts it farther south than most of Canada, giving it the mildest climate in the country, with virtually no snow and less than half the rain of Vancouver. The city's geography, or at least its place names, can cause confusion. Just to clarify: the city of Victoria is on Vancouver Island (not Victoria Island). The city of Vancouver is on the British Columbia mainland, not on Vancouver Island. At any rate, that upstart city of Vancouver didn't even exist in 1843 when Victoria, then called Fort Victoria, was founded as the westernmost trading post of the British-owned Hudson's Bay Company. Victoria was the first European settlement on Vancouver Island, and in 1868 it became the capital of British Columbia. The British weren't here alone, of course. The local First Nations people—the Songhees, the Saanich, and the Sooke—had already lived in the areas for thousands of years before anyone else arrived. Their art and culture are visible throughout southern Vancouver Island. You can see this in private and public galleries, in the totems at Thunderbird Park, in the striking collections at the Royal British Columbia Museum, and at the Quw'utsun'Cultural and Conference Centre in nearby Duncan. Spanish explorers were the first foreigners to explore the area, although they left little more than place names (Galiano Island and Cordova Bay, for example). The thousands of Chinese immigrants drawn by the gold rushes of the late 19th century had a much greater impact, founding Canada's oldest Chinatown and adding an Asian influence that's still quite pronounced in Victoria's multicultural mix. Despite its role as the provincial capital, Victoria was largely eclipsed, economically, by Vancouver throughout the 20th century. This, as it turns out, was all to the good, helping to preserve Victoria's historic downtown and keeping the city largely free of skyscrapers and highways. For much of the 20th century, Victoria was marketed to tourists as "The Most British City in Canada," and it still has more than its share of Anglo-themed pubs, tea shops, and double-decker buses. These days, however, Victorians prefer to celebrate their combined indigenous, Asian, and European heritage, and the city's stunning wilderness backdrop. Locals do often venture out for afternoon tea, but they're just as likely to nosh on dim sum or tapas. Decades-old shops sell imported linens and tweeds, but newer upstarts offer local designs in hemp and organic cotton. And let's not forget that fabric prevalent among locals: Gore-Tex. The outdoors is ever present here. You can hike, bike, kayak, sail, or whale-watch straight from the city center, and forests, beaches, offshore islands, and wilderness parklands lie just minutes away. A little farther afield, there's surfing near Sooke, wine touring in the Cowichan Valley, and kayaking among the Gulf Islands.

Main Dining

Our goal to open your world through the culinary experiences we provide comes to life on Celebrity Edge. We rethought everything when we designed Edge—including our main dining experience. Choose from not one, but four complimentary, main restaurants, each with a distinctive design and ambience inspired by a specific region of the world.

Specialty Dining

We wanted to expand our global culinary expertise even further on Celebrity Edge. To open the world—and palates—of our savvy travellers even more, we designed exciting new specialty restaurants found nowhere else at sea. Take your onboard dining experience to new heights at our seven specialty dining venues and see how we’ve elevated specialty dining to a true art form.

With all the inspiration we drew from creating our new main and specialty dining restaurants on Celebrity Edge®, we couldn’t help but to expand our complimentary dining offerings as well. Fleet favourites have been reimagined with a global focus, and we’ve created transformative venues that take you on a culinary journey throughout the day.

We’ve improved on a few favourites, plus created a new café that’s pure paradise at sea. Whenever the mood strikes you, we’re ready to serve up something delicious.

CELEBRITY SELECT DINING

Dine on your time

On our Celebrity Edge® Series ships, we may have reinvented the main restaurant experience with four different venues, but we haven’t changed the way you plan your dining. With Celebrity Select Dining you can choose early seating at 6:00 P.M., late seating at 8:30 P.M., or dine whenever you want. You’ll be assigned one of the four main restaurants, while having the option to dine in the other three upon request and availability.

Tuscan Restaurant

Step inside and discover the delicious ambiance — a modern classical design centred around Italian fashion and film. Savour mouthwatering cuisine inspired by authentic southern Italian eateries, featuring all homemade pastas prepared with a rustic flare. Your taste buds will get a tour of southern Italy without even stepping ashore.

Cyprus Restaurant

Dear to our hearts, this restaurant represents our Greek heritage. We wanted to create a stunning atmosphere that would represent the Mediterranean fare served here, so we worked with world renowned designer, Patricia Urquiola. In Cyprus, the menu’s main focus is seafood and features simple, clean dishes that celebrate the food and beverages of the Mediterranean region.

Cosmopolitan Restaurant

We know our current main dining experience across our fleet is one of the reasons guests sail with us time and time again. To maintain this essence of the Celebrity dining experience on Edge, we created the Cosmopolitan Restaurant—the next evolution of our current main restaurants. The walk-through wine display at the entrance sets the scene for the creative cuisine within—new American with global influences.

Normandie Restaurant

With ties to our elegant Murano specialty restaurant on many of our ships and a nostalgic nod to Celebrity Summit® (wooden panels from the ship are incorporated into the design), Normandie Restaurant features contemporary French cuisine in a modern, upscale, refined space that evokes the romance of springtime in Paris. Enjoy regional European wines, deliciously unique cocktails, tantalising starters, and mouthwatering entrées.

Luminae at The Retreat®

Dining on Celebrity Edge is an exclusive affair for guests of The Retreat with access to a private restaurant, Luminae at The Retreat®—the highest-rated restaurant in our fleet. Luminae is sumptuously designed by Kelly Hoppen and features daily changing menus not available in any other restaurant on board.

Your private restaurant boasts a boldly elegant interior that's as distinctive as the cuisine you’ll enjoy here. The menu options are found nowhere else on board, including the new signature dishes created by our Global Culinary Ambassador Daniel Boulud, complimentary to all guests of The Retreat.*

Le Grand Bistro

Inspired by classic French bistros, the mouthwatering sights, scents, and sounds of a bustling boulangerie-patisserie are sure to excite and entice. With an ambience that changes from morning to evening, and seating options from the planter-edged sidewalk to the inner café offering stunning views of the sea, every time you eat here, it’s a whole new experience.

Magic Carpet

Moving up and down the side of the ship, when on Deck 5, Magic Carpet is an open-air extension of Raw on 5. Here you’ll find an airy, casual seafood restaurant offering select Raw on 5 favourites as well its own unique menu. When these two restaurants meet, it’s the perfect pairing for an unforgettable al fresco dining experience as you glide over the glistening water below. Reservations can be made once onboard.

Dinner on the Edge

Above every deck of the ship exists an extraordinary, sky-high dining experience we call Dinner on the Edge. When the Magic Carpet ascends to the top of the ship, on special evenings embark on an exhilarating al fresco culinary journey that’s a feast for your eyes, your appetite, and your sense of wonder. Eden Restaurant

Dinner at Eden Restaurant isn’t just a meal. It’s an extraordinary culinary journey, featuring an open kitchen, innovative dishes, and three levels of design excellence. Exciting new menus offer more appetisers, entrées, and desserts to create a new dining experience that will excite every sense. Our expertly executed dishes are as beautiful as they are delicious.

Le Petit Chef

Tabletops come to life with a brand new Le Petit Chef experience—an animated fusion of entertainment and dining, featuring dishes such as filet mignon. This new animation begins with Le Petit Chef as a 12 year old boy, who meets a girl which later becomes his wife. They go on to marry, have children and grow old together. Their life and cooking is chronicled throughout each of the seasons.

Raw on 5

Using both raw and refined elements with earth tones, pearlescent accents, and natural textures, we’ve created a sophisticated yet approachable restaurant. The dramatic raw bar display at the entrance showcases an abundance of oysters, crab, and lobsters to choose from. The menu, also available at the Magic Carpet® when positioned on deck 5, will feature more casual offerings like Shrimp Salad, our signature Lobster Roll and sushi and sashimi prepared by our expert sushi chefs.

Cafe Al Bacio

Revolutionary in its vision, the Resort Deck is encompassed by an outward-facing asymmetrical pool deck with a poolside gallery full of oversized art installations, two-story martini hot tubs, and high-ceilinged cabanas that overlook the ocean.

There’s also the Rooftop Garden, an urban playscape where you can catch a movie, have a picnic, or dance among the stars. Tom Wright put his creativity to work at the Celebrity Edge main pool and surrounding areas. Together, we reimagined this space and created a stunning, untraditionally asymmetrical space that offers a distinct resort-style atmosphere. Revolutionary in its vision, the space is encompassed by an outward-facing, terraced pool deck that makes the ocean views and landscapes the focal point while you’re lounging poolside.

The Magic Carpet

The industry-first Magic Carpet is both the best way to take in spectacular views and the most exciting place to be. By changing function and location, it provides an incredible array of visual perspectives and a distinct experience on every deck it visits.

The Magic Carpet is designed with comfortable seating, a full bar, and space for live music performances, so it truly is a destination itself on Celebrity Edge®.

Prepare yourself for some of the best views aboard as you soar over the open ocean on the Magic Carpet®. The highlight of our outward-facing vision, this incredible engineering feat is the world’s first cantilevered, floating platform that reaches heights of 13 stories above sea level.

The Magic Carpet is designed with comfortable seating, a full bar, and space for live music performances, so it truly is a destination itself on Celebrity Edge®. But depending on the positioning, its mood and function changes—providing exciting new venues, incredible visual perspectives, and a distinct experience on every deck it visits. At the very top of the ship, the Magic Carpet becomes an extraordinary venue high in the sky where we host mouthwatering experiences such as Dinner on the Edge. Down to Deck 14, the Magic Carpet becomes a stunning extension of the main pool area, while on Deck 5, it serves as an unforgettable, open-air dining experience. Then at the bottom on Deck 2, the Magic Carpet becomes an extension of luxury at The Destination Gateway.

Pool Deck

Soak up the sunshine on The Retreat Sun Deck, our chic, spacious outdoor area with stylish furniture, a full-sized pool, a hot tub and dedicated Pool Butlers – a private paradise aboard a floating paradise. Or head for the shade of The Retreat Lounge, available 24/7 and located just off The Retreat∘ Sun Deck. Guests have access to a concierge who can make any arrangements – on board or off.

Once again, celebrated architect Tom Wright put his creativity to work when we collaborated with him to design the Celebrity Edge main pool and surrounding areas. Now the outward-facing, terraced Pool Deck a is a stunning asymmetrical space that makes ocean views and landscapes the focal point.

At the centre of this space (but not the centre of attention) is a 25-yard lap pool, the largest in our fleet, featuring in-pool loungers. Positioned magnificently above the Pool Bar is an ever-changing LED light art installation.

Another attention-grabbing addition to the pool deck—and another first for Celebrity—are two striking, two-story martini hot tubs, that take unwinding at sea to new heights.

Just off the pool deck are the outward-facing, cabanas. Spacious (165 square feet) and airy (more than 18 feet high), these luxurious coves invite you to climb in and get lost in the plush seating and incredible views of the sea. At night, ambient lighting turns the cabanas into intimate spaces perfect for enjoying cocktails and the moonlight glimmering off the ocean.

The Theatre

An unexpected space that only Celebrity Edge could deliver. Expertly designed and fully contemporary, the Theatre offers unparalleled entertainment in a dynamic setting at sea. Immersive acts meet innovative technology on an ever-changing stage that displays everything from whimsical productions to edgy experiences, blurring the lines between audience and performance.

One of the most expected entertainment venues you’ll find on Celebrity Edge is also the most unexpected. A truly contemporary space designed to blur the line between audience and performance, The Theatre immerses you in an unparalleled entertainment experience where the performances are as innovative as the space itself.

Four stage areas and eight giant, moving projected backdrops offer an ever-changing canvas for the productions that live here. A main stage extends into and above the audience, taking performances to a whole new level—literally. With rotating spiral staircases, 18 synchronised projectors, aerial rigging, and more, the technology behind the scenes in The Theatre is so dynamic, it not only showcases the performers, but at times it will steal the show.

Teens can hang out at the Teen Club, a space designed exclusively for young adults, where they can socialise with other cruisers in their same age group. Teen-focused activities and events at the Teen Club include sports competitions, silent disco parties, and video game tournaments.

Ages 13-17

Captains

Older kids are known as Captains in our Camp at Sea program, and they enjoy more freedom while on board. You can spot Captain cruisers on scavenger hunts, STEM, and competing in various sports and gaming tournaments.

Ages 10-12

Cadets

Adventure awaits on board for our Cadets, who can enrol in a one-of-a-kind nautical program, where they’ll learn the basics of sailing including navigation, time, weather patterns, and more. Cadets can also participate in activities spread throughout various venues, including Lawn Club games, campouts, and movie nights.

Ages 6-9

Shipmates

Young cruisers that are fully potty trained can enrol as Shipmates at our Camp at Sea program, where they’ll work on their art skills at the Creation Station, learn new camp songs, and interact with other kids under the supervision of our experienced youth staff.

S.T.E.M

We understand the importance of exposing young minds to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math), and that’s why we partnered with The Frost Science Museum* and Anturus to create a one-of-a-kind educational experience onboard.
